Trap Mix

The Trap SOCA DJ Competition reimagined the party by putting the power in students’ hands. Through an open campus-wide search, three finalists were selected to blend trap with another genre: Trap Latin, Trap Caribbean, and Trap R&B, competing live for a $200 prize and a headlining slot at the official Trap SOCA party.

Inspired by the legacy of hip hop DJ battles, the event transformed DJs into performers, giving emerging talent a real platform to showcase their sound, connect with a crowd, and earn their first major booking.

Each set brought a distinct energy, but it was DJ Kyrie’s electrifying Trap SOCA mix that won over both the audience and judges. More than a competition, the night became a launchpad, turning student DJs into artists with real momentum.18w
